Dorothea Lange's Migrant Mother (source: Library of Congress; originally work done for U.S. Farm Security Administration)

This photograph is probably Dorothea Lange's most famous. It depicts destitute pea pickers in California, centering on a mother of seven children, age thirty-two, in Nipomo, California, March 1936.
