This is a
heliozoan, taken from a freshwater aquarium. The axopods are faintly visible radiating outward from the cell surface, and there is a distinction between the frothier ectoplasm and more granular endoplasm. From its relatively large size, this appears to be an
Actinosphaerium, one of the
