April 7th 2003: an AV-8B Harrier from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Air Combat Element ) commences its take-off run. The aircraft is setting off to engage targets over Iraq from aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
