The Icterids are a group of small to medium, often colourful passerine birds restricted to the New World.

They include the grackles[?], New World blackbirds, and New World orioles. Despite the similar names, the latter groups are not related to the Old World Common Blackbird, which is a thrush (Turdidae), or the Old World orioles (Oriolidae).
