Mnemonic aid

Redirected from How to learn lines

A mnemonic aid is a tool to aid memory. It can aid in learning lines for a play, for example. For instance suppose you had to learn:

'To be or not to be,
That is the question
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or take arms against a sea of troubles'

You could reduce this down to:

'2 b / n 2 b
L s l ?
W t n n l m 2 s
L s & a / o f
/ t m a a c / t'

This gives a phoenetic representation of the text which may be easier to learn.
