To judge from her name, she was destined to live in space: "Hoshi" (星) means "star" in Japanese, while "Sato" has several different meanings: "village" (里) or "inside" (裡). (星里 are the Kanji characters that manga author Hoshisato Mochiru[?] uses for his family name.) More likely, however, "Sato" is the most popular Japanese surname 佐藤.
