Hina

In Polynesian mythology, Hina is a goddess, mother of Maui, whom she once asked to slow down the sun so days would last longer. He succeeded. She was a dual goddess, portrayed with two heads symbolizing day and night. She was a guardian of the underworld and patron of artisans and craftsmen. She was Tuna's lover.

With Tane, she was the mother of Hine-nui-te-Po.
