Hierarchical relationship

The asymmetrical relationship that defines a hierarchy. This can be for instance an authority relationship, a parent-child relationship, a containment relationship, or a part-to-whole relationship.

The relationship conventionally has a direction that is labelled as upward and goes from a member labelled as immediate subordinate to another which is its immediate superior.
