High Frequency

Redirected from HF

HF is an abbreviation for High Frequency, and is in particular used for the frequency for radio communication between 3 and 30 MHz.

Since the ionosphere reflects HF radio waves quite well, the HF radio band is extensively used for long range terrestial communication, since HF radio waves may travel around the globe in the channel formed by the ionosphere and the Earth's surface.
