Healthcare reform

Redirected from Healthcare Reform

Healthcare reform is a general rubric used for discussing major policy changes--for the most part, governmental policy changes--to any existing healthcare system in a given place.

An example of healthcare reform was the major United States government policy initiative of Bill Clinton headed up by his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton. This was a complex proposal that was not enacted into law.

In the United Kingdom a massive programme of attempted reform of the British National Health Service has begun.

Some of the goals of the healthcare reforms are usually :

  • Get more quality (EFQM), information and election of healthcare professionals for the user.
  • Get more protection for as many people as possible, with lower costs.
