Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 183.3 km² (70.8 mi²). 72.8 km² (28.1 mi²) of it is land and 110.5 km² (42.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 60.27% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 712 people, 345 households, and 233 families residing in the township. The population density is 9.8/km² (25.3/mi²). There are 850 housing units at an average density of 11.7/km² (30.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.21% White, 0.56% African American, 2.53% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 0.56% from two or more races. 0.14% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 345 households out of which 15.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.1% are married couples living together, 6.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.2% are non-families. 28.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
