Haringvliet

A large inlet of the North Sea, in South Holland in the Netherlands. The Haringvliet is an important estuary of the Rhine and Meuse River.

Near Numansdorp the Hollands Diep splits into the Haringvliet and the Volkerak[?]. It is separated near Goedereede from the North Sea by the Haringvliet Sluices, which provide a road connection between the Voorne-Putten[?] island on the north and the Goeree-Overflakkee island on the south..
