Halfdan the old, brother of Roe according to Saxo(2-4-3). He conquered Uppsala, but was killed by his brother-in-law, the heado-beard Frodi, who gave the widow to his ally Onela. Later on Halfdan's son Roulf went to Uppsala to get the part of the king's treasure belonging to him. Onela tried to assasinate him, but he saved himself by sacrificing the precious ring Sveagris. Roulf and Onelas nephew and enemy Eadgils attacked the heado-beards, and according to Saxo (4-3-3) Eadgils killed Frodi (by Saxo changed to Frowin)in single combat. Soon after they went to Uppsala and Onela had to go away. Halfdan probably belongs to the beginning of the 8th century.
