Geography Halaula is located at 20°13'57" North, 155°46'59" West (20.232466, -155.782948)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 7.7 km² (3.0 mi²). 6.9 km² (2.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 10.40% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 495 people, 149 households, and 113 families residing in the town. The population density is 71.6/km² (185.1/mi²). There are 158 housing units at an average density of 22.8/km² (59.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 17.98% White, 0.00% African American, 0.20% Native American, 33.33% Asian, 10.51% Pacific Islander, 1.01% from other races, and 36.97% from two or more races. 22.22% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 149 households out of which 30.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.0% are married couples living together, 21.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.5% are non-families. 16.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
