Hagakure

The Hagakure, (1716) is a practical and spiritual guide for a warrior, recounted by the former Samurai Yamamoto Tsunetomo[?].

Hagakure means variously "hidden by the leaves" or "hidden leaves"

Not a comprehensive philosophical synthesis, it even appears to hold superficial contradictions. This is not surprising, for it was collected by Tashiro Tsuramoto during conversations held during seven years worth of visits.
