Gurk

Gurk (Slovenian Krka) is a river in Carinthia (Koroška), Austria. It is a northern left tributary of the river Drava (Drau). The 120 km long river has its source in the Alps, under the mountain group Gurktaler Alpen (Krške Alpe), in the area where western Styria (Štajerska) borders Carinthia. In its upper stream it flows through the Gurktal (the Gurk valley, Krška dolina) towards east. Near Strassburg it turns towards south and it outflows to the river Drava about a half way between Klagenfurt (Celovec) and Völkermarkt[?] (Velikovec).

Near St. Johann (Št. Janž) in Carinthia a rivulet Gorschitz (Krčica) outflows to the river Gurk.
