Grenville is a town located in Day County, South Dakota. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 62.

Geography Grenville is located at 45°27'59" North, 97°23'24" West (45.466392, -97.390038)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 62 people, 35 households, and 14 families residing in the town. The population density is 99.7/km² (261.0/mi²). There are 46 housing units at an average density of 74.0/km² (193.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 95.16% White, 0.00% African American, 3.23% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.61% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 35 households out of which 20.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 28.6% are married couples living together, 2.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 60.0% are non-families. 57.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 28.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.77 and the average family size is 2.50.

In the town the population is spread out with 19.4% under the age of 18, 1.6% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 22.6% who are 65 years of age or older.
