Green Onions is a
soul album by
Booker T. & the MG's, released in October of
1962 (see
1962 in music). Entirely
instrumental, the album broke Booker T. & the MG's into the mainstream. The band was not able to capitalize on their fame with future releases though, and
Green Onions is widely considered the artistic and popular peak of their career.
Green Onions peaked at #33 on Billboard's (North America) Pop Albums chart.
