Green Lake County is a county located in the State of Wisconsin. As of 2000, the population is 19,105. Its county seat is Green Lake[?]6.

Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 985 km² (380 mi²). 918 km² (354 mi²) of it is land and 68 km² (26 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 6.87% water.

Demographics As of the census1 of 2000, there are 19,105 people, 7,703 households, and 5,322 families residing in the county. The population density is 21/km² (54/mi²). There are 9,831 housing units at an average density of 11/km² (28/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 97.81% White, 0.15% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.89% from other races, and 0.60% from two or more races. 2.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 7,703 households out of which 29.40% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.50% are married couples living together, 6.90% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.90% are non-families. 27.00% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.80% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.96.

In the county, the population is spread out with 24.20% under the age of 18, 6.60% from 18 to 24, 26.20% from 25 to 44, 24.20% from 45 to 64, and 18.80% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 97.00 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.20 males.
