Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,714 people, 1,077 households, and 734 families residing in the county. The population density is 2/km² (5/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 97.94% White, 0.66% African American, 0.07% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.77% from other races, and 0.48% from two or more races. 0.85% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
