Gravette is a city located in Benton County, Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,810.

Geography Gravette is located at 36°25'12" North, 94°27'9" West (36.419962, -94.452584)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.1 km² (2.3 mi²). 6.1 km² (2.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,810 people, 697 households, and 471 families residing in the city. The population density is 298.7/km² (775.1/mi²). There are 773 housing units at an average density of 127.5/km² (331.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 92.87% White, 0.17% African American, 2.10% Native American, 0.61% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.05% from other races, and 3.20% from two or more races. 2.93% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 697 households out of which 37.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.5% are married couples living together, 14.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.4% are non-families. 28.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.48 and the average family size is 3.07.

In the city the population is spread out with 29.2% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 18.0% from 45 to 64, and 17.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 87.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 82.9 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $29,881, and the median income for a family is $34,844. Males have a median income of $28,571 versus $18,906 for females. The per capita income for the city is $15,241. 16.6% of the population and 11.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 22.5% are under the age of 18 and 19.3% are 65 or older.
