Gordonville is a town located in Lowndes County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 318.

Geography Gordonville is located at 32°9'8" North, 86°42'52" West (32.152335, -86.714338)1.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 14.7 km² (5.7 mi²). 14.6 km² (5.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.35% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 318 people, 112 households, and 84 families residing in the town. The population density is 21.8/km² (56.5/mi²). There are 129 housing units at an average density of 8.8/km² (22.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 3.77% White, 95.91% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.31% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 1.26% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 112 households out of which 30.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.3% are married couples living together, 33.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% are non-families. 23.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.84 and the average family size is 3.38.

In the town the population is spread out with 28.0% under the age of 18, 9.7% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 20.4% from 45 to 64, and 16.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 97.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.4 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $10,278, and the median income for a family is $21,250. Males have a median income of $25,375 versus $22,292 for females. The per capita income for the town is $8,948. 42.5% of the population and 37.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 38.0% are under the age of 18 and 69.1% are 65 or older.
