Gooik is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Gooik proper, Kester[?], Leerbeek[?] and Oetingen[?]. On January 1st, 2000 Gooik had a total population of 8,834 (4,403 males and 4,431 females). The total area is 40.37 km² which gives a population density of 218.83 inhabitants per km².
