Golden Glades is a town located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 32,623.

Geography Golden Glades is located at 25°54'46" North, 80°11'52" West (25.912771, -80.197688)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 12.9 km² (5.0 mi²). 12.7 km² (4.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.20% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 32,623 people, 9,826 households, and 7,281 families residing in the town. The population density is 2,560.1/km² (6,635.0/mi²). There are 10,540 housing units at an average density of 827.1/km² (2,143.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 23.38% White, 65.29% African American, 0.28% Native American, 1.81% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 2.92% from other races, and 6.24% from two or more races. 17.63% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 9,826 households out of which 44.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.8% are married couples living together, 24.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.9% are non-families. 20.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.23 and the average family size is 3.72.

In the town the population is spread out with 31.1% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 18.5% from 45 to 64, and 10.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 89.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.8 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $30,841, and the median income for a family is $33,577. Males have a median income of $25,036 versus $21,409 for females. The per capita income for the town is $12,341. 20.9% of the population and 18.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 25.4% are under the age of 18 and 24.0% are 65 or older.
