Gniezno is a town inhabited by about 73,000 people. The town is in central Poland, and some 50 km east of Poznan. It is here that the Gniezno Congress took place in the year 1000 AD, during which Boleslaw Chrobry received Otto III, the Emperor of Germany. In 1025 AD, Boleslaw Chrobry became the first King of Poland, and is nowadays commonly referred to as Boleslaus I of Poland.
