Georges-André Chevallaz

Georges-André Chevallaz (February 7, 1915 - September 8, 2002) was a Swiss historian and politician.

Mayor of Lausanne since 1957, he was elected to the Federal Council of Switzerland on December 5, 1973 and handed over office on December 31, 1983. He was affiliated to the Free Democratic Party. During his office time he held the following departments:

He was president of the Swiss Confederation in 1980.
