George Clinton

George Clinton (US VP) (1739-1812): twice US Vice President under Jefferson and Madison. First and third Governor of New York. Uncle of DeWitt Clinton, seventh and ninth Governor of New York. Named for him are:
- Clinton County, New York
- Clinton County, Ohio
George Clinton: one of the fathers of funk. The mastermind of Parliament (band) and Funkadelic during the 1970s and early 1980s. Solo funky artist as of 1981.
