Genlock

Genlock (for Generator Lock) is a technique where the output of one system is used to synchronize another. Genlock is a common technique in video and digital audio engineering. When two systems are synchronized in this way, they are said to be genlocked.

Genlocking can be used between two isolated machines, or in a wider facility where all the systems are locked to a single master clock[?] generator.
