Gastropod

From the greek root Gastro- = belly + pod = foot

Of the class Gastropoda, the largest and most successful class of mollusks. These animals often have one piece shells, usually spiraled or coiled like a snail shell, though in some cases such as with slug[?] the shell is reduced or missing.

All snails and slugs are examples of gastropods.
