Galaxy Quest

Galaxy Quest is a Star Trek parody starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman. This movie is about the washed-up stars of a Star Trek-like TV series called Galaxy Quest who find themselves in a real Galaxy Quest-esque setting, thanks to some aliens who, never having heard of fiction, took the show as scripture and duplicated the technology.

This movie parodied everything from the technology of Star Trek to the Star Trek conventions. The parody is mostly friendly, and was widely appreciated by science fiction fans. The movie won the Hugo Award for best science fiction movie of the year.
