Any of the regions in Ireland where Gaelic (the Irish language) is the major language.

Údarás na Gaeltachta [1] (http://www.udaras.ie/) is the government agency responsible for the Gaeltacht regions.

Raidió na Gaeltachta [2] (http://www.rnag.ie/) is the RTÉ radio station targeted at the Gaeltachtaí.
