Freshwater aquarium invertebrate species

Invertebrates are commonly introduced into freshwater aquaria, there are several snail species, numerous shrimps and crayfish that are found in aquaria. Some of these species are:

  • Apple snail
  • Japanese Glass Shrimp (Caridina japonica)
  • caridina serrata
  • Macrobrachium lar
  • Carambellus montezuema
  • Procambarus species.
