Invertebrates are commonly introduced into freshwater aquaria, there are several snail species, numerous shrimps and crayfish that are found in aquaria. Some of these species are:

Apple snail
Japanese Glass Shrimp (Caridina japonica)
caridina serrata
Macrobrachium lar
Carambellus montezuema
Procambarus species.
