Franz Gruber

Franz Xaver Gruber (1787 - 1863), Austrian primary school teacher and organist in the village of Oberndorf and then in Hallein, Salzburg. Together with Josef Mohr[?] (original German lyrics), he composed the Christmas carol "Silent Night, Holy Night".
