Frank Willis

Frank Willis was a security guard at the Democratic National Committee building, the building where the infamous Watergate scandal occurred. Mr.Willis noticed a piece of duct tape on the floor when he was making his rounds on Saturday, June 17th, 1972 and peeled it off the floor. One of the five burglars - James W. McCord, Frank Sturgis, Eugenio R. Martinez, Virgilio R. Gonzalez, and Bernard L. Barker - also noticed and replaced the tape. When Mr.Willis returned, he saw the tape and caught the five men. He called it in at 1:47 a.m. and they were arrested at 2:30. This triggered the chain of events which eventually lead to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. Willis died on September 17th, 2000 at the age of 52.
