Francis Forde

Francis Forde (July 18, 1890 - January 28, 1983) was the ninetennth Prime Minister of Australia, holding the office for only eight days after the death of John Curtin.

Despite seen as the favourite by the public to take over the Leadership of the Labor Party in 1945, Francis Forde was defeated in a leadership ballot by the Treasurer Ben Chifley, whom he served faithfully.
