Fort Snelling is a former military fortification located at the confluence of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The original installation was completed in 1825, and the fort saw service through World War II. In 1960, it was listed as a U.S. National Historic Landmark[?].
