Fort Bridger, Wyoming

Fort Bridger is a town located in Uinta County, Wyoming. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 400.

Geography Fort Bridger is located at 41°19'7" North, 110°23'11" West (41.318716, -110.386418)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 5.2 km² (2.0 mi²). 5.2 km² (2.0 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 400 people, 158 households, and 114 families residing in the town. The population density is 77.6/km² (200.6/mi²). There are 183 housing units at an average density of 35.5/km² (91.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.00% White, 0.00% African American, 1.25% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.25% from other races, and 0.50% from two or more races. 2.75% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 158 households out of which 34.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.3% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.8% are non-families. 24.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.53 and the average family size is 2.96.

In the town the population is spread out with 28.8% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 29.0% from 25 to 44, 25.0% from 45 to 64, and 10.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 102.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.9 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $32,031, and the median income for a family is $33,750. Males have a median income of $36,354 versus $17,344 for females. The per capita income for the town is $16,662. 11.5% of the population and 11.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 18.8% are under the age of 18 and 5.9% are 65 or older.
