France's First Republic was formed in 1792 as a result of the French Revolution. Its rulers were:

Napoleon Bonaparte -- (First Consul) 1799-1804, later Napoleon I (Emperor) 1804-1814
Napoleon II of France (Emperor) 1814

The Bourbon Dynasty, Restored, followed.
