Finrod founded the original Minas Tirith in the Pass of Sirion, and was later Lord of Nargothrond. Barahir of the House of Bëor saved Felagund's life at the Dagor Bragollach and to repay that debt, Finrod went with Barahir's son Beren on the Quest of the Silmaril. Finrod saved Beren's life in the pits of Sauron on Tol-in-Gaurhoth[?].
