Fat anabolism

Fat anabolism is the production of fat, usually involving the storage of energy. Fats are made from glycerol and fatty acids, in a condensation reaction involving three water molecules. The carboxyl groups terminating the fatty acids combine with the hydroxyl groups on the glycerol, releasing water and yield an ester (COO) connecting to the glycerol chain.
