Fast casual restaurant

A fast casual restaurant is a restaurant market niche which is similar to a fast-food restaurant in that it does not offer table service, but promises somewhat higher quality of food and atmosphere. Fast casual restaurants have been taking market share from fast food restaurants in the United States since the 1990s.
