FastCat Fiasco or
Fast Ferries Fiasco was the name given to a
BC NDP blunder which cost over $450 million. The BC NDP Government, with then premier
Glen Clark spearheaded the construction of the disaster called PacifiCats which were designed to improve transport service from
Horseshoe Bay[?] in
West Vancouver[?] to
Departure Bay[?] in
Nanaimo[?].
The ferries cause or have the following problems
- Gas Guzzlers
- Not much improvement from conventional vessels
- Created Tidal Wakes which damaged waterfront property
- No Trucks allowed
- Many more....
The PacifiCats are being auctioned off for scrap metal.
