Farm Loop, Alaska

Farm Loop is a town located in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 1,067.

Geography Farm Loop is located at 61°37'42" North, 149°8'44" West (61.628426, -149.145602)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 22.9 km² (8.9 mi²). 22.9 km² (8.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.11% is water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,067 people, 334 households, and 268 families residing in the town. The population density is 46.6/km² (120.7/mi²). There are 350 housing units at an average density of 15.3/km² (39.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 92.97% White, 0.28% African American, 3.37% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 0.19% from other races, and 2.81% from two or more races. 2.44% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 334 households out of which 47.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.1% are married couples living together, 8.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.5% are non-families. 14.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.19 and the average family size is 3.55.

In the town the population is spread out with 36.2% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 5.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 104.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $55,234, and the median income for a family is $56,953. Males have a median income of $44,417 versus $31,705 for females. The per capita income for the town is $20,880. 7.2% of the population and 6.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 6.6% are under the age of 18 and 0.0% are 65 or older.
