Excelsior Rotterdam

Nowadays, Excelsior is a so-called 'satellite club' of Feyenoord. It gets money from Feyenoord, has the same shirt sponsor (Stad Rotterdam Verzekeringen) and kit sponsor (Kappa), and many players are either on loan from Feyenoord or handed over transfer free. The advantage for Feyenoord is, that it gives them a place where young players can develop their talents further who have grown above the level of the second team, but are not yet good enough for the first.
