European Union member states
There are currently 15 member states in the European Union:
- Austria
- Belgium
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Greece
- Ireland
- Italy
- Luxembourg
- Netherlands
- Portugal
- Spain
- Sweden
- United Kingdom
Additionally, the following states have declared their interest in joining the European Union and are expected to join on May 1, 2004:
Romania and Bulgaria plan to join in 2007, and Turkey is expected to join, but a date has not yet been set.
