Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,455 people, 342 households, and 298 families residing in the town. The population density is 17.3/km² (44.9/mi²). There are 367 housing units at an average density of 4.4/km² (11.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 4.95% White, 0.00% African American, 94.23% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.07% from other races, and 0.69% from two or more races. 2.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
