Elderberry

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra) is a small, fast growing shrubby tree. It bears bunches of small white or cream coloured flowers in the spring, that are followed by bunches of small black berries. Both flowers and berries can be made into wine, although the berries should not be eaten raw as they are mildly poisonous, causing vomiting (this mild toxicity is destroyed by cooking)
