Ekkaia

In the fiction of J. R. R. Tolkien, Ekkaia or the Encircling Sea is the dark sea that surrounds the world of Arda. Ulmo the Lord of Waters dwells there. Its nature is not entirely clear, but it may not be water as mortals understand it.
