Effie Gray

The wife of John Ruskin and later of John Everett Millais. Effie was born in Perth, Scotland. Her unhappy marriage to Ruskin was annulled on the grounds of non-consummation. She married Ruskin's protégé Millais shortly thereafter, bearing him eight children. She also modelled for a number of his works, notably "The Order of Release" and "Peace Concluded".
