Edirne

Edirne is a city in the westernmost part of Turkey (Thrace). (Formerly Adrianople, or Hadrianopolis). The city of Adrianople[?] was conquered by the Ottoman Empire in 1362 and it served as Ottoman capitol in the first half of the 15th century. The population was in 1997 aprox. 115 000.
